Scouting for Food is the largest one-day food drive in the Boy Scouts of America. Started in 1985 in the St. Louis area, Scouting for Food has expanded to other councils across the country.

Each year, our Scouts, leaders and parents collect hundreds of canned food items and dry good that are used to stock the Lake Cities food pantry to be distributed to homeless and less fortunate families in the Lake Cities area.

General Tips and Safety Instructions:

  • Scouts are to wear uniforms.
  • Buddy System to be used by all scouts at all times.
  • No Scouts are allowed in the back of moving vehicles at any time.
  • Do NOT enter residences.
  • If you have a main street to cover, remember to do both sides.
  • Cover as much of your area as possible. If you don't get it all covered, that's OK.

2012 Scouting For Food

Saturday, February 11, 9AM at Lake Cities United Methodist Church.

Boys should come dressed in their full uniform

They will go door to door collecting food for the Lake Dallas Food Bank.

They should wear comfortable shoes and be dressed appropriately for the weather, and bring a water bottle.

*We are asking parent  to please bring a wagon them,  as it makes transporting food a lot easier between homes, cars and the church.
